persona indeseable; desagradable◘ Loc. lat. que significa 'persona no grata' y se usa en referencia a la persona considerada indeseable por un Gobierno o institución: " Yo había comenzado a ser persona non grata" (Laín Descargo [Esp. 1976]). Normalmente se usa con el verbo declarar: " Por nimiedades declaró persona non grata al embajador de Estados Unidos"(Salvador Ecuador [Ec. 1994]). Esta locución latina solo es válida en singular, por lo que no debe usarse la fórmula * personas non gratas para el plural; en ese caso es mejor usar el equivalente español personas no gratas: "La Cámara Municipal ha declarado personas no gratas a las autoridades del MTC" ( Universal [Ven.] 7.4.97). No es admisible el empleo de * non grato como adjetivo masculino, ya que mezcla el adverbio latino non y el adjetivo español grato (el masculino singular latino seríagratus): *"Promoverá que sea declarado non grato, para que no se le permita ingresar nuevamente a territorio nacional" ( Prensa [Hond.] 7.4.97); en esos casos debe usarse la locución completa persona non grata, o bien la equivalencia española no grato.
